Actually, I think the first image of the Sandtrooper is one of Disney's cast members at Disney Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney-MGM Studios). However, it's worth noting that a 501st member is responsible for the development of Disney's Star Wars costumes.
Interesting - the suit does seem subtly different. I just pulled these from Flickr by searching 501st and sorting by date. The guy on the bottom picture is a band member from Her Mer Superstar during a concert.
In the 501st Legion, order is maintained by troopers stationed all over the world. In Vermont, it is pursued by the dedicated Troopers of the New England Garrison. These are their stories.
